Authorities Suspend Search for Four-Year-Old Child Disappeared in Australian Remote Area
Australian police have ended the search for a young boy who has been disappeared in the outback for nearly twenty-one days, after renewed efforts proved unsuccessful to locate any signs of the youngster.

Gus Lamont was spotted enjoying himself outside his family property on a secluded rural property close to Yunta, about 300km from Adelaide, on 27 September.
His grandparent left him alone for about a short period before returning, only to realize the boy nowhere to be found, prompting one of the biggest comprehensive operations in local records.
Latest Position
Law enforcement - who do not believe wrongdoing - say they will persist investigating, but that the matter has become a "recovery mission".
Last week, officials for a short time scaled back the search, only to recommence it on this week alongside eighty military members.
"Spokesperson the commissioner said officials were looking a broader region based on revised assessments from survival and operation experts, rather than any recent developments."
Operation Difficulties
On recently, police confirmed that the latest search had not uncovered any evidence of Gus.
"The situation that the young boy is a young child, the environment is very difficult, unforgiving and affected by variable elements has made the searching challenging and more difficult for those involved," officials said in a statement.
About 470 sq km - an area roughly double the dimensions of urban center - has now been searched, and a 12-person team set up earlier this week is expected to persist looking into. Authorities have not discounted further operations of the area in the future.

Gus, who has been characterized as an explorative but reserved child, was last seen dressed in a dark hat, pale gray pants, footwear and a navy long-sleeved T-shirt featuring a bright character design.
The incident has sparked significant interest throughout the country, with pictures of the fair-haired, curly-headed child shown throughout local media and discussion circulating extensively on the internet.
It prompted police to ask that members of the public cease phoning them with their "opinions", and appeal for them to obtain details from credible channels.
Relatives Reaction
Police lately said the youngster's loved ones remain "stoic" despite the heartbreaking situation.
"One can understand just how they are coping... without having answers as to precisely where their child is and what's transpired to him. This would be devastating for all loved ones," Commissioner the commissioner said.
By means of a representative, the relatives household has earlier said they are "overwhelmed" by the child's disappearance.
"This has come as a shock to our relatives and loved ones, and we are struggling to comprehend what has happened," Bill Harbison said.
"Gus's loss is experienced in everyone, and we yearn for him more than words can describe."
