Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
