The nail-biting extended contest that saw the Los Angeles Dodgers overcome the Blue Jays 5-4 attracted a total over 50 million spectators across the United States, Canada, and Japanese territories. The Saturday epic contest drew 27.33M viewers on Fox Sports channels, its Spanish-language channel and their streaming platforms. Per ratings data, it was the second most-watched program of the previous week.

It also stands as the top-rated Fall Classic game since the 2017 Game 7 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which averaged 29.07 million. This represents a 16% increase over the last Game 7 between the Nationals and Astros, which attracted 23.19 million viewers.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 placed fourth, the fourth game ranked seventh, the fifth game was eighth, and the third game landed in thirteenth position.

International Audience Figures

In the Canadian market, the game drew over 11 million viewers on Sportsnet and the French-language TVA Sports channel. This made it the highest-rated English program in Canada after the 2010 edition Winter Olympics.

In the Japanese market, where the final contest began at 9 PM local time, it attracted 12 million. This followed last Friday’s Game 6 – in which World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up one run in six innings – drew 13.1 million spectators, making it the most-watched World Series matchup on a sole broadcaster in Japan.

Series Totals and Patterns

The entire seven-game series recorded 15.71 million audience members on Fox, a 2% rise from last year’s Dodgers-Yankees series. This marks the initial instance since 2015 and ‘16 that the World Series has recorded audience increases for two straight years.

Including the opening game telecast on the Univision network, the total US viewership was 16.1M. The total World Series viewership in Japan was 9.7 million and 8.1 million in Canada.
