The incident caused the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A young child was among those injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
